Dr. Abudu Abdul-Ganiyu
Managing Partner - Strategy, Leadership and Development Policy Lead
Dr. Abudu Abdul-Ganiyu is Managing Partner at Emerging Markets Advisory Limited in Accra, Ghana. His consultancy experience spans baseline and endline studies, large systems interventions, organisational restructuring, and cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis across the private and public sectors. He holds an adjunct position at Nobel International Business School in Accra, where he delivers lectures and facilitates workshops on strategy execution, innovation management, monitoring and evaluation, and cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis to top executives across Africa.
Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu led research in baseline studies for newly created districts in Northern Ghana (2006), informing the formulation of their Medium-Term Development Plan. He also oversaw field data collection for the “Productive Uses of Electricity” project commissioned by the Ministry of Energy and provided local revenue mobilisation consultancy to multiple MMDAs under the Ministry of Local Government Service. As a local consultant to Shanghai Construction Group, he supported the setup of Ghana operations for the Tamale Sports Stadium project, facilitating staff recruitment, coordinating stakeholder engagements, and securing compensation for affected communities.
His public sector experiences span from being a Senior Lecturer at Tamale Technical University (2010) to Director of Corporate Affairs and Training at Ghana’s National Identification Authority (2017), and Technical Advisor to the Minister for Finance (2024). In these capacities, he led the National Identification System Project, transitioned the NIA into a fully-fledged public organisation, engaged academic stakeholders in a quarterly economic roundtable that informed Ghana’s debt-restructuring strategy, and was part of a team that negotiated separate bilateral agreements with countries under the Official Creditor Committee( OCCs) for Ghana.
Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Sheffield Hallam University (UK), an MBA in Strategic and Project Management from ESG-PGSM (France), an MA in Organisational Development from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana) and is professionally certified in Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis from Queen’s University (Canada).
