This expert-led Investment Appraisal and Project Selection training focuses on the financial and economic appraisal of investment projects in both the public and private sectors. Participants will also be guided through the appraisal of projects under Public-Private Partnership arrangements.

Our seasoned Trainers and Consultants bring a blend of proven industry expertise and academic knowledge to deliver the training curriculum, aimed at enhancing participants’ knowledge and skills in conducting effective pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for investment projects and in selecting and approving projects based on sound investment analysis. This will enable policy and decision makers in both public and private sectors to determine the financial and economic viability of projects in making investment decisions.

Dr. Nhial Kuch

Lead Facilitator

Dr. Nhial is an Associate Partner and lead facilitator of the Training in Investment Appraisal and Project Selection (TIAPS) at Emerging Markets Advisory Limited, Ghana. He has had more than ten years’ experience as the Senior Country Economist of the IGC in Uganda, and with significant lead advisory roles across East Africa. Prior to his role at the IGC, Dr Nhial worked in the Canadian public service as an economist at the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA), where he provided economic advice regarding taxation of multinational companies. He also worked on the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic and past economic shocks on the natural resources sector in Canada. Since 2017, aside from Dr Nhial’s role at the IGC and EM Advisory, he has also been preoccupied with facilitating training and workshops across East and Southern Africa, and in Canada, where he actively contributes to the Program In Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis training at Queen’s University. He delivers lectures and leads Excel tutorials based on real investment projects on the program.

He holds a PhD and an MA in Economics from Queen’s University, Canada, as well as a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. He also holds a professional Certificate and Trainer of Trainers qualification in Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis from the Queens University, Canada.
